Enough with all the talk, whats the plan? In this section I will present to you a rather detailed plan on how to win all them money. The plan consists of several sections (That will expand as the project goes on). For now the only section is: Bank Roll Management
Bank Roll Management
This is actually the part of the project where I’ve done the most thinking and after a whole series of scetches some friends and I finaly came up with what I consider the actual Masterplan of going from average fish to highstakes poker player.
Theoretical Background
First I’d like to present to you some of the articles that lays behind my thoughts on Bankroll management:
- Chris Ferguson on: going from 0$ to 10.000$ and running bad- Those two articles really made me believe in this project!
- Article by Rune Hansen on thepokerforum
- Here it gets a little mathematical
- I just like this one from pokersavvy.com
1000 Days of Bankroll Evolution
- I call it the “1000 Days of Bankroll Evolution” inovative and universal as it is, it can be obtained as bankroll management at whatever stage you are in your poker career! It looks like:
The table might need some explanation: In the upper horizontal row, you have your bank roll, where SB is your start bankroll. The leftmost vertical column actually does all the bankroll management for you, as all you have to day is follow which tables to go to at max. Last aspect of the table that might need a little explanation are the filled in fields - The idea is that if you win just 2 buyins a week, one day you too will end up a poker millionaire. Lets take my own project as example:
With SB (our start bankroll remember?) equal to 1000$, my own “1000 Days of Bankroll Evolution” wil look like:
In the example above I’ve added some numbers in parantheses - thats the number of weeks by which you will have to win the 2xBn in average. So for myself we will get a calculation that says that in 10+13+9+12+60+20 = 127 weeks I would’ve reached me goal of 200.000$, giving me around 15 weeks extra to reach the magical quarter of a million US dollars. What’s your calculation? Let me know!
In a graph it would look something like this:
