Enough with all the talk, whats the plan? In this post I will present to you a rather detailed plan on how to win all them money. The plan consists of several sections (That might get expanded as time goes by). For nowI will present to you my thoughs on bankroll management for the next 1000 days.
Bank Roll Management
This is actually the part of the project where I’ve done the most thinking and after a whole series of scetches I finaly came up with what I consider the actual Masterplan of going from average fish to highstakes poker player - I call it the “1000 days of Bank Roll Evolution” inovative and universal as it is, it can be obtained at whatever stage you are in your poker career! It looks like:
| Max buyin/Bankroll | T=Start Bankroll | 3xT | 8xT | 15xT | 30xT | 100xT |
| T/10=B1 | 2xB1 | |||||
| T/15=B2 | 2xB2 | |||||
| T/20=B3 | 2xB3 | |||||
| T/25=B4 | 2xB4 | |||||
| T/30=B5 | 2xB5 | |||||
| T/60=B6 | 2xB6 |
The table might need some explanation: In the upper horizontal row, you have your bank roll, where T is your start bankroll. The leftmost vertical column actually does all the bankroll management for you, as all you have to day is follow which stakes to go to at max - The idea ofcourse is, that the BRM gets more and more strict as you move up the stakes, money gets bigger and opponents get harder to break. Last aspect of the table that might need a little explanation are the filled in fields - The idea is that if you win just 2 buyins a week, one day you too will end up a poker millionaire. Lets take my own project as example:
With T (our start bankroll remember?) equal to 1000$, my own “1000 days of Bank Roll Evolution” wil look like:
| Max buyin/Bankroll | 1000 | 3000 | 8000 | 15.000 | 30.000 | 120.000 |
| 100 - 0.5/1NL | 200 (10) | |||||
| 200 - 1/2NL | 400 (13) | |||||
| 400 - 2/4NL | 800 (9) | |||||
| 600 - 3/6NL | 1200 (12) | |||||
| 1000 - 5/10NL | 2000 (45) | |||||
| 2000 - 10/20NL | 4000 (20) |
In the example above I’ve added some numbers in parantheses - thats the number of weeks by which you will have to win the 2xBn in average. So for myself we will get a calculation that says that in 10+13+9+12+45+20 = 112 weeks I would’ve reached me goal of 200.000$, giving me around 30 weeks to reach the magical quarter of a million US dollars. What’s your calculation? What will your bankroll be in just 1000 days? Let me know!
For future records you will find the plan in the page “1000 Days of Bankroll Evolution“.
